Juliana Snelling (maiden name Horseman), is a Rhodes Scholar, a Director/Partner of Canterbury Law Ltd. and a member of the Bar of England & Wales, the Law Society of England & Wales, and the Bermuda Bar.
Ms. Snelling’s principal work involves advising local and exempted organizations and senior level business executives on a whole range of issues concerning Bermuda employment and labour law.
She also practices in most areas of civil litigation, regularly appearing in the Supreme Court of Bermuda in cases involving employment/labour disputes, contract, tort and other civil disputes, property disputes, human rights issues, defamation cases and personal injury matters.
Ms. Snelling was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1994 and the Bermuda Bar in 1995. She is a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. She is also a qualified Solicitor with the Law Society England and Wales and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
She served for 3 years as Chair of Bermuda’s Land Valuation Appeal Tribunal, for several years as a member of the Professional Conduct Committee of the Bermuda Bar Association, the Treatment of Offenders’ Board and the Tax Appeals Tribunal. She currently sits on the Bermuda Medical Council, assisting with legal matters concerning doctors and nurses.

In 2012 she was the winner of “The Bermudian” Magazine’s Services Award for legal services for being the “go to” lawyer for employment and immigration representation.
The preceding year Juliana was recognized by the Bermuda Government’s Department of Human Affairs as one of the 100 Women/100 Vision honorees, an award that highlights the achievements of 100 women in Bermuda who have had a positive impact on the Island of Bermuda in the business sector.
Juliana is the published author of the Bermuda Chapter of Carter-Ruck on Libel and Privacy (6th ed. 2010), Reed Elsevier (UK) Ltd. and the author of the Bermuda Chapter of The Employment Law Review (8th ed. 2017 and 9th ed. 2018), Law Research Business Ltd. (UK).
She is the founder of The Grateful Bread (2017), a group of ever-growing friends and volunteers who feed and donate to the needy in Bermuda each month at a social celebration, bringing together the haves and have-nots of all classes and races to help heal divisions in Bermuda society.
