Personal Background

Kelly Thurman focuses exclusively on employment and labor law and litigation.  She represents employers in state and federal court cases involving employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, employment torts and unfair competition.  She has defended numerous local, regional, and national employers in federal and state court litigation.

Ms. Thurman has extensive experience representing employers before various federal and state administrative agencies, including the EEOC, Department of Labor, NLRB, and the Texas Workforce Commission-Civil Rights Division.  She also counsels employers on compliance with state and federal employment and labor laws, including daily advice and counsel to human resources, legal, and executive personnel on employee discipline and termination matters.  She received her B.A. in Criminal Justice, cum laude, from the University of Texas at Arlington and her J.D., summa cum laude, from Texas Tech University School of Law.
