Personal Background

Roland’s practice includes corporate and finance work, aviation, labour and employment, insolvency, and sponsoring law. He has written and lectured extensively in his areas of specialisation.  He has been a partner at our Geneva office since 198, and has acted as an expert in insolvency proceedings, as a court-appointed commissioner in reorganisation and restructuring matters, and as a chairman on creditors’ committees.

For several years, Roland worked for a major Formula 1 team and was involved, inter alia, in sponsorship agreements. He has many years’ experience acting as an escrow agent in international aircraft transactions. He is a co-author of several publications on Swiss employment law and regularly lectures at Geneva Law School on escrow agreement in aircraft transactions.

Roland gained his law degree from the University of Geneva in 1973 and was admitted to the Bar in 1976. In 1980 he obtained a Master of Comparative Jurisprudence from New York University. His working languages are French, English and Italian.
