Sonal Sejpal is a Director with Anjarwalla & Khanna, the founding member of ALN – the leading independent African alliance of top tier law firms. Prior to joining Anjarwalla & Khanna, Sonal was a partner at Franks Charlesly & Co. in London. She is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales with significant experience in oil and gas, aviation finance, mergers and acquisitions, energy, project finance, employment, banking and general corporate matters. Sonal heads up ALN’s Natural Resources Group and works out of the ALN member firms in both Kenya (Anjarwalla & Khanna) and Tanzania (ATZ Law Chambers). She has represented clients such as Apache, Africa Oil Logistics, Tullow, ENRC, Midway Resources, Dominion, Ophir and the Kenya Oil & Gas Association (KOGA).
Sonal is ranked as a “Leading Lawyer” in Kenya in Chambers Global, IFLR 1000, Legal 500 and PLC Which Lawyer? Having contributed the chapters relating to the law in Kenya for the International Employment Labour Law published by Littler Mendelson and Aircraft Finance: Registration Security and Enforcement and Aircraft Liens & Detention Rights published by Sweet & Maxwell, she also authored the Kenya country overview for the Chambers Global Legal directory. She is a member of the Board and the Middle East and Africa Regional Chair for the Employment Law Alliance, a comprehensive global network of more than 135 employment, labour and immigration law firms. In addition, Sonal is a regular speaker at various conferences in Africa and abroad covering the extractive industries, mergers and acquisitions, employment law issues, banking and finance matters and the legal regime in East Africa.
