Firm Background
On the one hand, advising businesses to ensure that relations with the workforce be as unstrained as possible, while avoiding labour disputes and prosecution. On the other, defending companies where conflicts have become unavoidable. The two aspects are closely related, and can be properly dealt with only by a firm with the skills to advise a company, relying upon a firm grasp of the ins and outs of the business world, as well as a high degree of legal expertise, and finger-tip familiarity with formal procedure.
This is the full range of services Flichy Grangé Avocats is in a position to offer. The founding partners had all been with the labour law department of one of France's major firms. In 1999, the decision was taken to set up a "niche firm" focussed entirely on labour law, in response to increasing demand in this area from French and foreign companies.
Owing, precisely, to the fact that the founding partners all came from a single firm, Flichy Grangé Avocats' philosophy is a business-orientated one. Its partners and associates are experienced in juggling the apparently-contradictory requirements of in-depth work, and speed. The firm strives to reconcile such demands for each and every client, whether that be a French small-to-middling business, or a multinational.
The firm is fortunate to be able to draw on partners and associates with widely-varying interests, covering the entire area of labour law, both domestic and international: collective negotiations and conflicts, arbitrage, restructuring operations, mergers and acquisitions, mobility and expatriation, basic and complementary benefits, employee savings-plans, individual high-risk disputes.
The firm has a high profile internationally, advising, as it does, many foreign clients and firms.
Firm Practice Areas
Flichy Grangé Avocats' practice is dedicated to employment law and social security law. Their work mainly involves handling negotiations, labour disputes and issues arising from restructuring operations and from mergers and acquisitions. Another area of expertise involves the labour aspects of transnational operations, as well as mobility and expatriation.
Flichy Grangé Avocats also advises on all aspects of social security law (basic and complementary benefits), high-risk individual disputes and company savings plans, and on labour issues arising in publicly owned companies.
