Personal Background

De'sire' Kamanzi is the Managing Partner of Kamanzi, Ntaganira & Associates based in Kigali. He has more than 10 years experience in commercial law, contracts law, banking and financial law, labour law, transport law, mining law, telecommunications law, intellectual property law, ADR mechanisms. Before starting his own practice, he taught at the law faculty of the National University of Rwanda and was the first to head its Private Law Department. Mr. Kamanzi also advised the Rwandan government through its Investment & Export Promotion Agency (RIEPA) and has successfully assisted several investors successfully establish their businesses in Rwanda.
He holds a Masters of Laws in International Business Law from the University of Ottawa, Canada. He is member of the Kigali Bar Association and also serves as the Secretary General for the Rwandan Law Society.
