Personal Background

Wojciech Babicki is a principal of the firm and co-founded the firm's offices in Poland. He has been with Miller Canfield since the Polish offices were opened. He is a licensed Polish attorney and graduated with a Master of Law degree from the University of Gdansk in 1981. He also completed graduate studies in the English language at the University of Gdansk in 1983 and is fluent in English. Prior to joining the firm, Wojciech Babicki was a sole practitioner in Gdansk. In 1989-90, he served as legal advisor for Solidarity Trade Union and its Economic Fund and Economic Foundation. He is a member of the Polish Bar Association for northern Poland, and is an instructor and frequent lecturer on commercial law. He is also an arbitrator with the Commercial Court of Arbitration, and a member of the supervisory boards of a Polish bank, a leasing company and other companies. He is a legal specialist on all aspects of Polish commercial law, tax and banking matters, joint ventures and competition law issues.
