The Lexington, KY law firm of Sturgill Turner Barker & Moloney, the Kentucky member of the Employment Law Alliance, was just selected as the number one Best Place to Work among Kentucky medium sized companies in the 2007 competition jointly sponsored by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Managers. This was the third straight year that Sturgill Turner Barker & Moloney has ranked in the top ten employers under 250 employees. Stephen L. Barker, chair of the employment law practice group at STBM, said "this award is first and foremost a tribute to our outstanding group of loyal and caring employees. They support our lawyers and each other. In addition, it is especially gratifying to know that as a firm that practices employment law, we are practicing what we preach about good employee relations."
Managing partner Phillip Moloney also credited the survey and assessment process utilized by the annual Best Places to Work program. "The report and findings we have received each year provide valuable information through a reliable process in which employees are allowed to speak anonymously, both by written surveys and in personal interviews with outside evaluators. The findings we have received have enabled us to identify areas where we need to improve or have more open discussion with employees. This information has translated into improved communication and unity in our law firm."
